Clear prompts in English and Turkish

You do not need a special command language to ask an assistant a question. A useful starting point is three ordinary pieces of information: what you want done, what the answer should use, and what the finished answer should look like.

Give the task before the background

“Help me write a short invitation” tells the assistant what to do. Follow with the event details and your audience. Long background without a clear task leaves more room for an irrelevant response.

Provide the details you want preserved

For an imaginary book swap:

Write a friendly invitation to our neighbourhood book swap. It is on Saturday, 7 November, from 14:00 to 16:00 in the community room. Ask people to bring up to three books. Keep it under 70 words and do not add details I have not provided.

The same task in Turkish:

Mahallemizdeki kitap takası için samimi bir davet yaz. Etkinlik 7 Kasım Cumartesi, 14.00–16.00 arasında ortak salonda. Katılımcılardan en fazla üç kitap getirmelerini iste. 70 kelimeyi geçmesin ve vermediğim ayrıntıları ekleme.

Make the follow-up specific

Instead of “make it better,” try “Keep the time and book limit, but make the tone less formal.” That gives you a concrete check: did the revision retain both facts? If you switch languages, name anything that must remain exact, such as a person’s name or a venue title.

Use a short source when the answer should stay grounded

For a summary, paste the passage and say whether outside information is allowed. For a comparison, state the criteria. For an explanation, describe what you already know. You can ask the assistant to flag missing information, then check whether it actually does so.

Clear wording has limits

A careful prompt cannot supply knowledge the model lacks or establish that a fluent answer is true. Verify names, numbers, and external facts when they matter. Our answer-checking guide offers a short way to do that.
