Your messages stay on your device

Flyingkiwi’s model runs inside your browser, in a background worker using WebAssembly. Your messages and the replies are processed on your device and are not sent to a server, an analytics service or a training dataset. There is no remote model and no fallback to one.

The conversation lives in the page’s memory and disappears when you reload or close the tab, or start a new conversation. One exception: when a newer version of the site goes live while a conversation is open, the page reloads itself the next time you send a message (at once if no conversation is open) and passes the conversation, your unsent drafts and the chosen answer format to the reloaded page through this tab’s session storage (flyingkiwi-handoff); the reloaded page reads that entry and deletes it at once, and it is never sent anywhere. So that it never reloads in a loop, the tab also notes the version it last reloaded for (flyingkiwi-update-tried), which holds no conversation text. To notice a new version, the page asks for /version.json when the tab is shown again and every fifteen minutes while it is open; that request carries no conversation content. No account is created and no chat history is saved to persistent storage. English and Turkish conversations are kept separately in the tab. Your language choice is stored in your browser under flyingkiwi-language and, when you pick an English model, that choice under flyingkiwi-model-en.

Model downloads and cache

Your first message downloads the selected model from this same site: Blazing Kiwi, the default English model, is about 81 MB including its offline library; Flyingkiwi 0.6B (English) and Flyingkiwi Türkçe are about 570 MB each. Blazing Kiwi’s library is downloaded whole and searched inside your browser, so looking something up never sends your question to Wikipedia or anywhere else. The app checks every file’s size and SHA-256 hash before using it, then keeps the verified files in your browser’s cache storage (named flyingkiwi-model-v3-…) so later visits can start without downloading again. When a release is replaced or withdrawn, its files, and files left by earlier versions of the app, are deleted automatically. It asks the browser for persistent storage; the browser may refuse or remove the files when space is low, in private browsing or because of site settings. “Remove downloaded model” in Model details deletes the selected language’s files; the other language is not affected.

Requests for model files reach our hosting providers like any other file request, so their access logs may record that a model was downloaded. Chat text is never part of a request, a file name, an error report or telemetry.

Hosting and analytics

Namecheap hosts the site and Cloudflare delivers it. Requests for pages and assets reach these providers, which may process connection information such as IP addresses and access logs under their policies.

A Cloudflare Insights performance-beacon script was observed in the delivered page during verification. This is injected through the provider configuration, outside this codebase; its activation and settings are being coordinated separately. Cloudflare Web Analytics can measure visits and page performance. This app does not put message text in page URLs, titles or beacon events.

No Google Analytics tracking code is included in this release. Analytics setup is being coordinated separately. If analytics is added later, this notice and any necessary privacy controls must be updated first. Chat prompts and responses must never be included in analytics events, URLs, page titles or collected form data.

Links to other sites

Blazing Kiwi’s replies can link to Wikipedia and Wikivoyage pages from its offline library. Following such a link opens that site, where the Wikimedia Foundation’s privacy policy applies; the link holds only the page’s title, never your message, and nothing is requested from Wikimedia unless you follow it.

Links to Hugging Face, the datasets and papers cited in the articles, and Gumroad, which sells the author’s ebook, open those sites, whose own privacy policies apply once you are there. Links to the ebook on Gumroad carry campaign parameters (for example utm_source=flyingkiwi) that tell Gumroad which Flyingkiwi page the visit came from. They never contain chat text, and nothing is sent to Gumroad unless you follow the link.

Döngüye girmemek için sekme en son hangi sürüm için yenilendiğini de not eder (flyingkiwi-update-tried); bu kayıt sohbet metni içermez. Yeni bir sürümü fark etmek için sayfa, sekme yeniden görüntülendiğinde ve açıkken on beş dakikada bir /version.json dosyasını ister; bu istek sohbet içeriği taşımaz. Hesap oluşturulmaz, sohbet geçmişi kalıcı depolamaya kaydedilmez. Türkçe ve İngilizce sohbetler ayrı tutulur. Dil tercihin tarayıcında flyingkiwi-language adıyla, İngilizce bir model seçtiğinde bu tercih flyingkiwi-model-en adıyla saklanır.

İlk mesajın, seçtiğin modeli bu siteden indirir: varsayılan İngilizce model Blazing Kiwi çevrimdışı kütüphanesiyle birlikte yaklaşık 81 MB, Flyingkiwi 0.6B (İngilizce) ve Flyingkiwi Türkçe yaklaşık 570’er MB’tır. Blazing Kiwi’nin kütüphanesi bütünüyle indirilir ve tarayıcında aranır; bir şey aramak için sorun Wikipedia’ya ya da başka bir yere gönderilmez. Site istekleri barındırma ve dağıtım sağlayıcılarına ulaşır. Cloudflare Insights ve analiz ayarları ayrı olarak koordine edilir; uygulama mesaj metnini URL’lere, sayfa başlıklarına veya analiz olaylarına eklemez. Bu kod sürümü Google Analytics takip kodu içermez.

Blazing Kiwi’nin yanıtlarındaki Wikipedia ve Wikivoyage bağlantıları yalnızca sayfa başlığını içerir; mesajın hiçbir zaman eklenmez ve bağlantıya tıklamadıkça Wikimedia’dan hiçbir şey istenmez. Hugging Face, makalelerde anılan veri kümeleri ve yazarın e-kitabını satan Gumroad bağlantıları bu sitelere götürür; orada kendi gizlilik politikaları geçerlidir.
